Kulbroen is an industrial monument in Sydhavnen in Aarhus - based around a concrete coal crane track. Today, the site is being transformed into a cultural platform and a public space for the city.
Our entire foundation is based around the recycling of Kulbroen - a concrete structure that many forces would simply tear down to make way for something new. Now the bridge has become a transformative force for the neighborhood.

Today, Kulbroen is being transformed into a cultural platform and a public space for the city. The goal of Kulbroen is to connect the city's history with the creative visions of the future through art, and thereby become a meeting place for art, culture and sustainable initiatives. This is done through a number of art and cultural experiences.
Membership in THE UPCYCL makes a lot of sense for us - a library of materials that would otherwise have ended up as waste; but has huge potential in a new context.It is the perfect place for us to look for materials and input when we are building the framework for small and large cultural experiences in Aarhus
